We work alongside local organizations, national networks, researchers, policymakers and community leaders to help CLTs take root in new places and deepen their impact where they already exist. Our programs fall within three complementary workstreams: Education, Connection and Innovation.

Education
Building accessible knowledge through research, publications, policy guidance, case studies and multilingual learning resources.
Resource Library
Collecting and curating materials, in multiple languages, that introduce the CLT, present case studies, document best practices and trace the history of the CLT movement.
Global CLT Map and Directory
Documenting the location of CLTs around the world.
Terra Nostra Press
Publishing books, monographs and manuals that showcase the theory and practice of CLTs and the stories of practitioners building an international CLT movement.
Educational Programming
Developing and presenting online and place-based programs, including webinars, to build skills, lift the practice and grow the movement.
Connection
Strengthening the global CLT movement by connecting practitioners, governments, researchers, funders and community leaders.
Networking and Partnerships
Developing and maintaining partnerships with organizations around the world to support the growth of CLTs.
Peer Exchanges
Facilitating one-on-one technical assistance and knowledge sharing among CLT practitioners.
Global CLT Virtual Summit
A free, multi-week series of online events connecting practitioners, residents, organizers, researchers and allies worldwide.
World CLT Day
A coordinated global day of action each May that celebrates, promotes and amplifies community-led land and housing.
Innovation
Supporting the adaptation of CLTs to new contexts and emerging challenges through collaborative learning and targeted technical assistance.
Global South CLT Initiative
Launched in 2023, the Initiative helps communities across Latin America, Africa and Asia explore, adapt and implement collective land stewardship models suited to their own contexts, through technical assistance, peer learning, regional partnerships and training, with the goal of development without displacement.
Climate Justice Initiative
Documenting, connecting and amplifying the climate work already happening in CLTs worldwide, to position CLTs as essential, justice-centered actors in the global transition to a resilient and equitable future.
