Blue Door – Land Trust Housing Development Manager: Blue Door is a not-for-profit registered charitable agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We have been an integral part of our community providing essential emergency shelter services since 1982. Blue Door’s mission is to support people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness to attain and retain affordable housing. Reporting to the Director, Affordable and Transitional Housing, the Housing Development Manager, Land Trust will be responsible for the establishment and ongoing operations of the Housing for All Land Trust, a program initiated by Blue Door. The incumbent will play a key role in establishing the land trusts operations, asset management as well as acquisition, efforts to ensure the land trust amasses and preserves a portfolio of affordable housing assets in perpetuity. 

Community Land Trust (Vancouver) – Development Coordinator: Based in Vancouver, Community Land Trust (CLT) is a social purpose real estate developer focused on creating communities people are proud to call home. Established in 2015, CLT is a member of the CHF BC group of social enterprises. CLT stewards its real estate, asset management, development, and finance portfolios with access to shared corporate services of the CHF BC group. CLT currently has more than 40 co-ops in their portfolio, with more than 3,000 occupied homes and another 800 homes in development or under construction in Victoria, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, Vancouver, Surrey, New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Kelowna and North Cowichan. Over the past 10 years, CLT has grown significantly, building their own real estate, development, asset management, and finance divisions.  Today, CLT has a real asset portfolio of approximately $1.25 billion, with $35 million in operating budgets and a team of 48 staff. We are currently seeking a Development Coordinator, reporting to the Associate Executive Director of Development, and working closely with the Development team, to play a critical role in delivering affordable housing for the growth of our organization.

Davenport Community Land Trust – Coordinator: The Davenport Community Land Trust (DCLT) is a grassroots, community-led initiative working to preserve and expand deeply affordable, community-owned housing in the Davenport neighbourhood. In the face of intensifying housing instability, we aim to preserve and create permanent, resident-led housing that reflects the needs and values of our community. We are currently entering an exciting new phase of incorporation and infrastructure development and we’re looking for a passionate individual to help us get there. The DCLT Coordinator will play a critical role in helping DCLT transition from a volunteer collective into an incorporated, community-governed non-profit organization. The successful candidate will support the expansion of our organizing capacity, community outreach, and internal operations, all while helping lay the foundation for land acquisition and permanent affordable housing in Davenport.

Europe

European Community Land Trust Network – Research and Development Lead: The Network launched in 2023 with financial support from Laudes Foundation and World Habitat. Our vision is that CLTs become recognized as a mainstream option for affordable, inclusive and sustainable land use and housing across Europe. The Research and Development Lead will join a small, ambitious, flexible and supportive Network Secretariat team based in Brussels. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the ‘Change Market Practiceʼ objective of the Networkʼs strategic plan.
  • Identify and create opportunities for collaboration and partnership around research, innovation and development objectives.
  • Form a Research and Development Advisory group, involving the Networkʼs membership and external experts.
  • Track and evaluate the impact of the CLT movement.

United States

Burlington Community Land Trust (North Carolina) – Executive Director: Burlington Community Land Trust is a nonprofit, community-based organization designed to promote affordable housing and facilitate community development. BCLT works primarily to ensure long-term housing affordability by placing land into trust and creating homeownership opportunities for low-income households. Our mission is to promote sustainable and resilient communities and equitable opportunities for homeownership through the development and support of permanent affordable housing in under-resourced neighborhoods. The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of the organization, responsible for overall leadership, strategic vision, financial management, and program development. The ED works closely with the Board of Directors and community stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission and ensure operational excellence.

Community Farmland Trust – Agricultural Land Acquisitions Contractor: We are seeking a part-time contractor to support our farmland preservation efforts. This contracted position involves working with CFLT Board of Directors and staff to develop policies and protocols governing the acquisition and stewardship of fee title farmland and agricultural conservation easements to further CFLT’s mission. The contractor will collaborate regularly with CFLT Board and staff and will maintain consistent, transparent
communication throughout.

Community Land Trust Association of West Marin

  • Senior Project Planner: The Senior Project Planner manages the front-end of the property development pipeline—from opportunity identification through acquisition, pre-development, and entitlements. This pivotal role shapes the future of affordable housing in West Marin’s rural communities.
  • Senior Development Director: The Senior Development Director will lead all fundraising efforts for CLAM. This includes designing and implementing annual giving campaigns, membership drives, donor cultivation, grant support, and special fundraising initiatives.
